Services
Initial Assessment & Treatment
Our therapist will talk through your injury with you. We aim to discover the how, where, what and why the injury took place. Following this, we undertake an objective assessment that may involve checking flexibility, joint ranges of motion, gait, strength, or apprehension. This helps to give a greater sense of how best to go about solving the problem.
Once the assessment is complete, treatment can commence. Each individual is seen as unique as their complaint. Consequently, we provide treatment according to what is most appropriate for that individual.
We also offer remote consultations for those who are unable to attend in person (see below)
Follow-up Treatments
Having undertaken an initial assessment and treatment, a review of the condition can be helpful to assess progress. This gives us the relevant information needed to be able to make any changes to the treatment plan that may be appropriate at that time.
We also offer remote consultations for those who are unable to attend in person (see below)
Neuromuscular Therapy and Sports Massage
Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) is a type of physical therapy or massage that is designed to treat specific muscle and soft tissue issues. The therapy has several potential benefits, including pain relief, improved range of motion, reduced stress, improved posture, faster injury recovery, and enhanced athletic performance.
Strength & Conditioning
Strength and conditioning, or S&C for short, refers to the physical development of competitive athletes at all levels; including elite-level sport, grassroots players, or even hobbyists that want to succeed in sporting or fitness events. In essence, a S&C coach prescribes exercises to improve the movement qualities and performance qualities of athletes, supported by appropriate and regular analysis, testing and planning.
Therapist Led Exercise
For those who have long term conditions, are making a return to exercise following the resolution of injury, or have endured a long time away from exercise. Returning to, or beginning to be more active can be daunting. Therapist Led Exercise can facilitate the 1:1 training that can give you the boost you need to get back out there and enjoy the world of exercise, getting you confident enough to take on classes, challenges, and whatever else life has to throw at you.
Remote Consultations
For those who have difficulty in attending our clinic office, we offer remote consultations. Similar to a “zoom” meeting, we undertake a video consultation, where we go through our usual initial assessment, demonstrating certain movements that replace the traditional objective assessment. Once the assessment is out of the way, we can direct you in how best to manage your complaint going forwards such as advice and guidance on home-based activities.
Home Visits
If you are unable to attend our clinic in person, and it is inappropriate for you to engage via remote consultations, we are happy to bring our Assessservices to you.
Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Assessments
Your work environment can impact on your comfort, safety and long-term health as much as the tasks themselves. Equipment, tools, furniture and lighting can all contribute to the development or exacerbation of musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders. We undertake ergonomic DSE assessments ideally in person, but where required we can conduct these remotely. We start with a short conversation to understand your specific needs and then assess the workstation and equipment being used, along with work habits, making adjustments where appropriate. Following the Assessment, a report is compiled describing any adjustments made and relevant recommendations for equipment or other adjustments that could not be made on the day.
